Sharing Lunar New Year Joy with Patients at Assisi Hospice

23/02/2026

On 23 February 2026, members and companions of the Singapore Association of the Order of Malta spent a meaningful evening with patients at Assisi Hospice as part of the Order’s annual Lunar New Year outreach – sharing love and festive blessings. Volunteers brought the spirit of the Lunar New Year to patients through simple but heartfelt moments of connection, where conversations and well wishes reminded patients that they are remembered and not alone.

For members and companions of the Order of Malta, visits such as these reflect the Order’s longstanding commitment to serve Christ through the sick and the poor. By offering companionship and presence, we hope to bring comfort and joy to those under the hospice’s care.

As the Church enters the season of Lent, this outreach takes on an even deeper meaning. Lent invites us to prayer, sacrifice and charity; a time to renew our hearts and draw closer to Christ by serving Him in those who suffer.

May this season inspire us to continue our mission with compassion, humility and love – bringing hope and consolation to those most in need.
