It was a beautiful sunny day on October 28, 2012 when the Singapore Association of the Order of Malta conducted their annual day of bringing cheer to some of the residents of the St. Theresa’s Home for the Aged.

(Participants at SMOM AP Conference, Sydney) The Order of Malta’s 3rd Asia Pacific Regional Conference was attended by representatives from Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, The Philippines, Timor Leste, CIOMAL, Malteser International and the Grand Magistry. Singapore was represented by President H.E. Michael Khoo, Hospitaller Isaac Krishnamoorthy and Chancellor Rose Lu.

Commends local Knights and Dames for service to underprivileged. The head of the Order of Malta met with members of the historic lay religious order in Singapore during a private visit recently. Grand Master Fra Matthew Festing’s May 17-20 visit is believed to be the first of its kind in Singapore.

Fra’ Matthew Festing, the Grandmaster of the Order of Malta has often reminded members that although the head of the Order is in Rome, the heart of the Order is in Lourdes. Indeed, there are few places on earth where the charism of the Order is more vibrantly experienced than during its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes.
