Fra’ Matthew Festing, the Grandmaster of the Order of Malta has often reminded members that although the head of the Order is in Rome, the heart of the Order is in Lourdes. Indeed, there are few places on earth where the charism of the Order is more vibrantly experienced than during its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Members and friends of the Order presented Chinese New Year Hampers and ‘Ang Pows’ to the residents of the Assisi Hospice on February 10th. We went to each of the 35 residents and chatted and distributed food hampers and mandarin oranges to them.

This annual outreach event started off with the celebration of Mass at their Chapel with the residents. A bus was chartered to bring about 30 elderly citizens and helpers together with members, associates and spouses to a steamboat lunch at T-One Restaurant at Thomson Road. We were blessed with sunny weather on that day.
